Mini Cooper Grille Badge Installation

NOTE!! On the 2007 MC, contrary to the warnings from Mini on the badge holder instructions, the top grille vents are not open and having more than one grille badge holder cannot cause airflow problems! Check these for more info...

Knock the short screws out of the plate with a light tap.

Screws model 490414 from Lowes will fit the holes and nuts that came with the badge holder.

Pop them out carefully with a flathead screwdriver.

Reach back behind the grille with the same flathead and poke.

Now we have a little more room to work with. Note the driving lights keep the whole grille from coming off and I'm too lazy to remove them.

Measure the space between the holes - 1 inch.

Remove the bottom silver bar of the grille by pressing up on the tab...

...and out it comes. Repeat on the other side.

Select a 1/8 inch bit.

Drill two holes 1 inch apart with the 1/8 inch bit in the middle opening.

Nimble fingers reach back there to put the washer and screw on.
